Apparently, she’s only American Idol material. …We kid, we kid.
A source revealed that Jennifer Lopez had reportedly shown interest in performing on the The Voice finale, but that the show’s decision-makers had ruled her out:
“She made a formal offer to be on the show. They said no to that.”
What’s more, the insider explained JLo’s interest in also joining the show as more than just a guest. He said:
“She also submitted herself to have a recurring role. When you submit yourself to be a performer, the show can see how [the fans] and ratings react to your episode. But, they said no to both.”
Yikes! Not good, lady!
That said, an NBC rep confirmed the star’s proposition to perform, but that scheduling issues were to blame:
“It was simply a matter of timing. The producers love Jennifer Lopez and tried to make it work, but due to the show’s format it just didn’t allow for another solo performance.”
Another insider elaborated:
Everyone loves JLo! We’re sure The Voice does, too!
But if the producers are listening, we’d love to see us some Jenny from the block this season!
Hint, hint.
