Airport of call

Ask for the executive pat-down: Looking for new ways to bring in revenue, many of the nation’s airports are adding resortlike amenities to draw dollars out of the pockets of travelers on layovers, including spas, yoga studios, luxury shopping and restaurants headed by celebrity chefs, all within sleek new terminals.

It sounds so nice we’d consider taking a vacation to one of these luxury airports, provided we can take Amtrak there and we don’t have to fly.

Something had to replace “Chicken Dance” at weddings: South Korean rapper PSY’s giddy-up dance moves in “Gangnam Style” have now reached more than 1 billion views on YouTube, surpassing the 800 million views for Justin Bieber’s “Baby”.

But maybe that’s not so impressive. It takes the average listener more than 250 million times just to figure out that the only English words in the whole song are “Hey, sexy lady.”

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1906, Canadian physicist Reginald Fessenden became the first person to transmit the human voice and music over radio, broadcasting from Brant Rock, Mass.

And with the words, “Hey, sexy lady,” Fessenden launched “Gangam Style” on its march to 1 billion.
