San Bruno, Calif. -- Gangnam Style, the mega-popular dance hit from 34-year-old Korean pop artist PSY, has become the first video ever to reach one billion views on YouTube, the Google unit said on Friday. The video has been viewed at least 1 million times in nearly 75 countries. "Gangnam Style" was YouTube's top rising search of 2012 and on Oct. 6, was the subject of more than 5 million searches in a single day. The company said it took just five months for the video to surpass its previously most-watched video, Justin Bieber's "Baby."
