Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill has welcomed his first child.
The rocker’s wife Jessie Baylin gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday afternoon, the Associated Press reports.
Violet Marlowe Followill was born in Nashville.
The infant weighed in at 7lbs 13oz .
Nathan and Jessie – who met at a music festival in 2006 – tied the knot in November 2009 in an intimate Tennessee ceremony. They invited just close family and friends, including Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson.
Nathan and Jessie announced they were expecting back in June.
“They are two of the most excited people I know,” a spokesperson for the couple told UsWeekly at the time.
The baby marks the second addition to the Kings of Leon family in recent months.
Nathan’s brother and fellow Kings of Leon member Caleb announced the birth of his daughter Dixie Pearl with his wife, model Lily Aldridge, in June.
It will be a busy year for the band. Kings of Leon are preparing to release a new album next year.
Singer/songwriter Jessie earlier this year released her third album, entitled Little Spark.
