Rixton kicks off first headlining show at Hollywood's Roxy Theatre ...

Infamous West Hollywood’s nightclub The Roxy was swarming with teenage girls on Tuesday as U.K. based pop quartet Rixton took the stage for their first headlining show in the U.S.

Despite the fact that they have yet to release a full length album, the foursome from Manchester, England, seemed to effectively fill their headlining set in L.A. on Tuesday night with a combination of their own material and a handful of covers, ranging from a mashup of Justin Timberlake’s “My Love” and “Let The Groove Get In” to Sisquo’s “Thong Song.”

Carefully interjected banter and anecdotes about ex-girlfriends who inspired particularly bitter tunes helped to move the show along as the quartet repeatedly thanked the crowd—comprised, not entirely surprisingly, mostly of screaming girls—for coming out to their first headlining show in the States.

“This next song was written by a very good friend of ours—he’s my favorite ginger followed by Ronald Weasley.” said Roche as an introduction to “Hotel Ceiling,” which was penned by fellow UK singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran.

In a surprise that delighted fans, singer/songwriter Tori Kelly served as a surprise guest for the night and joined the band up on stage to perform her latest single, “Dear No One.”

Following Kelly’s performance, which served as an intermission of sorts for the show, the rest of Rixton’s set was full of tunes like “Appreciate,” “Spearkphone,” and “Make Out,” the last of which came to a dramatic end when Roche planted a kiss on one lucky fan standing in the front row. “I just hope she doesn’t have a boyfriend!” he said as an afterthought as he wiped lipstick away from his mouth.

“I’ve got one more question for you, L.A.—who wants to fix me and my broken heart?” asked Roche before the band closed out the night by performing their current radio hit, “Me and My Broken Heart.”

Rixton continues their U.S. tour in Rosemont, Ill., on May 15. Head over to their website for a full list of tour dates.
