N-Dubz duchess and ex-X Factor fag ash breath babe Tulisa has found herself £42,000 richer this week, after apparently accepting the large sum of money in compensation, offered up by a news website who published a still image from a sex video which appeared on the internet last year.
It was revealed that Tulisa and the gossipy website had agreed on the settlement during a hearing at London’s High Court, so at least she’s got a lovely little bit of Crimbo spending money from all the dirty drama. Swings and roundabouts, love.
The court is currently examining the legal costs incurred from the breach of privacy proceedings brought by Tulisa to fight a number of defendants during March 2012, after the video emerged of Tulisa getting errr... a bit amorous and slobbery with a charming ex boyf.
The news website coughing up the cash, TNT, took the photo down as soon as it learnt that an injunction had been granted to Tulisa, but by that time it had already received about 9,000 hits from a whole heap o’ pervey Petes.
The judge declared that their use of the image from the video had encouraged people to look for illegal copies of the vid through the depths of the net, while TNT claimed that the image added nothing extra to the story, and that the public would have already been aware of the video thanks to the coverage it received.
After an admission of liability, TNT made an offer of £42,5000 in compensation, which was accepted by Toolees.
It’s not the first time that Tulisa has won a battle over the raunchy vid, as in July last year she won a public apology from ex-boyfriend and star of the show, Justin Edwards, after he initially denied being responsible for it leaking and encouraged people to believe that she’d put it out in public herself.
