Possibly happy news for fans of Kerry Washington (our own Shannon included) because there are reports going around today that she is PREGNANT with her first child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha! As you may recall, we learned earlier this year that Kerry and Nnamdi went and got themselves secretly hitched so news of this quiet — as-yet unconfirmed — pregnancy would fit in perfectly with their modus operandi. I can’t be entirely sure but if this pregnancy report turns out to be true, then the time of conception should match up nicely with the couples nuptials over the summer. HMMMM. I’d say tentative congratulations are in order, yes?
She married quietly with no celebrity fanfare on June 24, but Kerry Washington will have more trouble keeping her latest secret private. The Scandal actress, 36, and her husband, NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, 31, are expecting their first child, a source close to the actress confirms to PEOPLE. “Kerry and Nnamdi are ecstatic,” the source says. The baby is due in late spring. The pal adds that the private star likely wouldn’t have discussed her big news, but with a stint on Saturday Night Live this weekend, “she didn’t want the focus to be on whether or not she has a bump.” Despite the news, “Kerry will still absolutely be keeping her private life private,” the source says. A rep for Washington … did not respond to requests for comment.
Awww … this is great news, if true. Since we know that Kerry will be hosting SNL this weekend, it’s likely that this subject may come up in her monologue or in a skit so I’m guessing we’ll learn something more definitive this weekend. For now, let’s send all of our love and congrats to Kerry and Nnamdi just in case they really are incubating a baby right now ;) I can’t EVEN begin to imagine how much fun Shannon is going to have with this Bump Watch. BE PREPARED!
