IDRIS Elba and Charlie Day battle an army of alien sea creatures in their new flick Pacific Rim.

The duo are gearing up for the release of the anticipated summer blockbuster, released in the UK on July 12.
Pacific Rim sees Earth under threat from monsters – called the Kaiju – who are attacking cities all over the globe.
In a bid to save the planet from destruction, mammoth robots are built and controlled by two pilots – one of which is played by Charlie – whose minds are locked in a neutral bridge.
Idris appears in the role of the fighters’ commanding officer Stacker Pentecost, declaring with heroic intent: “We are cancelling the apocalypse.”
There are explosions and nail-biting scenes aplenty in the action-packed sci-fi adventure, directed by Guillermo Del Toro.

British star Idris is continuing his climb up the Hollywood career ladder, after launching to fame in TV classic The Wire.
He’s since appeared in movies including Thor and Prometheus, and continued to put in fine performances on the box in such shows as The Office and Luther.
New York actor Charlie made his name playing Charlie Kelly in hit US comedy series It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, alongside Danny DeVito.

He’s also built up a body of work on the big screen, taking key roles in Horrible Bosses, Going Nowhere and voicing the character Art in upcoming Monsters, Inc. sequel Monsters University.
