Oh No They Didn't! - Prince William Determined To Be A Modern ...

Kate Middleton is due to give birth to her and Prince William's first baby at any time and new reports suggest that William is "determined to be a modern father", unlike his dad Prince Charles.

Charles famously went on to play polo after the birth of eldest son William, but it seems like his son has a different idea in terms of fatherhood and is apparently more than willing to get stuck in there when it comes down to nappy changing and sleepless nights.

A source tells The Mirror: “Charles did not understand how to be modern," adding: “He was loving in his own way but he was caught up in the palace system and he couldn’t fight it, so Diana was isolated in her pregnancy and as a young mother."

William is more protective and wily .”

The second in line to the throne sees the birth as "ushering in a new age of informality for the Windsors," with marital teamwork and female equality being at the centre of his master-plan.

One courtier said: “It will be a tipping point for the Royal Family.”

The source went on to say how William doesn't want to fall down the 'traditional Royal father' route: “William will very much want to be a modern father. He has huge love for Kate and is adamant he’ll be with her when she gives birth."

Charles was there when William was born but he never changed a nappy – it just wasn’t the done thing. But William is a generation on and the practicalities of fatherhood mean very different things to him."

Despite his Prince status, Will is up for all of the fatherly duties, it seems: “He’ll expect to have sleepless nights and take a hand in changing nappies. He’ll be very hands-on – and that means from Day One.”

The source added: “William regards Kate as his equal partner. “It’s not like the Charles and Diana days. Things have moved on."

There has been much talk about Carole Middleton and Pippa being at the birth – Kate is very close to her mother and sister, of course, and they are on hand."

But William and Kate have made it clear they regard this as a very private special occasion between husband and wife.”

I'd divorce my future husband if he ever dared to go and play some stupid sport just mere seconds after the birth of our hypothetical child. I am happy to see William realized how wrong Charles approach was and is eager to be more involved and responsible for his daughter/son. No army of nannies or $ can replace a parent figure. I wish them well.
