Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s July 4 celebrations encored by a ‘Heartbreaker’ Instagram may or may not confirm the two stars’ reunion, but apparently the actress-singer’s friends are furious either way.
Usually I take a wary view of ‘source’ reports on these two especially as later reveals and the July 5 Instagram show, rumors about Gomez dating Ed Sheeran, Austin Mahone, or being kept away from Bieber were clearly false.
But; the revealing, hostile dynamics of Taylor Swift and an unidentified redhead when Gomez gave Bieber a hug and kiss at the Billboard Music Awards, mean reports about Gomez’s friends can’t be dismissed – not immediately, at least.
Following confirmation that Bieber and Gomez did spend July 4 together with a group of friends, an insider tells Us Weekly that the pair who dated for two years before splitting last fall – were ‘in a great mood’ and ‘they arrived holding hands.’
‘Justin was in a good mood,’ the source added.
After the Independence Day celebration, July 4 tweets posted by both Bieber -’Great night,’ and Gomez ‘Happy Birthday America!!! Hope everyone is enjoying the day’ – gave little away.
However, the Instagram the 19-year-old posted Friday of himself and the Spring Breakers actress has touched off reams of reunion speculation as one might expect.
No-one’s sure if the ‘Heartbreaker’ caption is a straight-up plug for Bieber’s previously announced single of the same name, a reveal of what Gomez is in his life, or a declaration that the Canadian is no longer heartbroken.
But according to Radar Online, Gomez’s friends – who may have more information, or are running with the latter interpretation – are infuriated to the point where they are now past caring.
‘Selena’s friends have stuck by her through thick and thin,’ an insider apparently exclusively told the website.’But the whole back-and-forth relationship with Bieber is really starting to wear on them.’
‘None of her friends really like Justin – or at least, they don’t like Selena with Justin. It’s just not a healthy relationship,’ the source reportedly added.
Somewhat dramatically, the possible mouthpiece, went on:
‘He has something on her. She knows he’s not the right thing for her, but she can’t stay away. Her friends have given up and the last thing they want to do is be around for another Jelena breakup.’
Cutting to the chase, these ‘quotes’ could very well be bogus. The ‘he has something on her’ line is fantastically overplayed, but recalling that Billboard Awards scene there could be a grain of truth to the rest.
