Album news
Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez) has a full time gig on Glee, but when she isn't busy challenging brostitutes to song-offs, girlfriend can be found recording her debut album! This gal revealed the title of her first single, "My Heart," this past July at Comic-Con 2012, but she still has a while to go before the album is totally polished.
"It’s going really well, actually," Naya tells Vulture. "I’ve made a lot of progress the last two weeks."
High fives for everyone, but let's cut to the chase. How much longer do we have to wait until Naya's album drops? "We’ve got a solid three [tracks] right now that I’m really, really happy with," she explains.
"It’s just a matter of figuring out if I’m going to do an EP or an entire album. As an artist, I would love to do an entire album, that’s a big deal, but given the fact that I do all of these other things at the same time, maybe an EP might be the way to go."
Naya hopes her album will be out in 2013, and don't worry — even if she initially releases an EP, she'll still go on a mini-tour. "I can still do shows with five original songs and like two covers," she explains. "Keep it smaller at first."
Either way, expect Naya's sound to be urban and jazzy — or in her words, "like Amy Winehouse’s jazz influences, a hip-hop Adele, a little Beyoncé."
Bey + Amy + Adele? Talk about an amazing combo!
