Remember early last week when Olivia Wilde put Justin Bieber on blast when she tweeted that he should “put his shirt on”? Well, it would appear that a few thousand Bieber fans took umbrage with Olivia and decided to send her hate messages on Twitter. In an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Wilde revealed that she received around 17,000 hate-tweets from angry Beliebers … and she shared a few of them on air. Hell hath no fury like a Belieber scorned. Olivia Wilde said she received more than 17,000 hate-filled tweets after she chided the frequently half-naked Justin Bieber on her Twitter account. The outspoken star tweeted on March 1, “Bieber, put your [bleeping] shirt on. (unless you lost all your shirts in a fire in which case my condolences and please purchase a new shirt.)” After Wilde’s tweet, members of Bieber’s army responded in force. She shared some of the vitriol on “The Tonight Show.” “One of them was, are you a lesbian or are you too old? And it’s great, because it’s a question I never asked myself before,” Wilde, who is engaged to Jason Sudeikis, said. “This one was interesting: ‘Put your shirt over your mouth.’ Which, I’m assuming, is a Shakespearean insult.” Bieber made headlines recently when he showed up at his London hotel on a chilly night wearing nothing but his hip-hop style pants slung low beneath his tighty-whiteys. The “Tron” star also joked to CNN about the tweet, “I’m going to get attacked with acid. Someone’s going to throw acid in my face.” “If that happens there are 35 million Beliebers that did it, so find them” She explained that her tweet came from love: “You know, it’s something I’d say to my little brother, and I probably have said it. You know, just, ‘Put your shirt on. It’s cold out there.’ I meant it with all the love in the world. It’s pretty much the funniest thing that’s ever happened to me because my Twitter feed is now filled with the most hilarious abuse.”
YIKES! It’s not wise to incur the wrath of angry pre-pubescent kids on Twitter, especially if you dare to besmirch their young god Justin Bieber. I’m glad that Olivia appears to be taking it all in stride … tho, if she disappears off the face of the Earth, I think it’s safe to say that we know what happened to her. Just to be on the safe side, it’s prolly a good idea if Olivia refrain from criticizing young Justin Bieber from here on out … for her own good.
