It’s official. The “Gangnam Style” mania has reached the top of Youtube. In less than 5 months, this track by Korean rapper Psy, has managed to surpass the number of views in Justin Bieber’s “Baby”, (a 2010 video), recording no less than 805 million views on Youtube.
According to calculations by marketing blog Wordstream, Psy’s video has an average of over 4.000 views per minute.
In fact, it’s estimated to be the first video on Youtube to surpass the 1-billion views record, around December 11th.
Gangnam Style has also been certified by Guinness Records as the most liked video in the history of Youtube, with over 2 million digital thumbs-up.
One could expect nothing less from a track that even Eric Schmidt deigned to dance in public.
