The “Gangnam Style” craze continues! PSY's official music video for “Gangnam Style” is nearing the 800 million mark and is expected to hit 1 billion views soon. Less than five months since uploading the video, PSY currently has 795,955,07 views and is predicted to overtake Justin Bieber's “Baby,” who just hit the 800 million mark last week, soon.
Justin Bieber's “Baby” which was released last February 2010 surpassed the 800 million mark on Youtube, making him the first artist to achieve such feat. However, PSY managed to hit more than 795 million views since its release last July. He is expected to be the second artist to hit 800 million in a few days time, following Justin Bieber.
Meanwhile, despite falling to the 7th spot on the Billboard Hot 100, PSY on the top spot for Youtube 100 for “Gangnam Style” with Hyuna's version “Oppa, You're My Style” trailing on the third spot.
For the past few months, PSY busied himself in promoting “Gangnam Style” and was eventually awarded “Best Video” at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards. He has also staged a lot of collaborations with international artists such as Madonna and just recently, MC Hammer at the American Music Awards.
You can also anticipate PSY's special stage on this year's Mnet Asian Music Awards, where he is dubbed to hold the 'Best Gangnam Style Ever“.
