Psy-onara Justin Bieber! Korean artist Psy claims the top YouTube title. Hey guys, welcome back to ClevverMusic. With over 800 million views (that's almost a billion!) in just four months, "Gangnam Style" has beat YouTube's former 'Most Watched Video': Justin Bieber's "Baby," by 20 million views! Over the weekend Justin Bieber's hit was surpassed by label mate Psy's "Gangnam Style' hit. On Saturday the video snuck past "Baby" by 30,000 views and that number has only kept growing.
Psy tweeted his excitement with: "#GangnamStyle just became the most watched video @YouTube!! #History". That's a pretty impressive feat considering that Justin's hit has been around for two years and "Gangnam Style" was posted in July this year! In less than a quarter of the amount of time, "Gangnam Style" has also earned the title of 'Most Liked Video Ever' on YouTube. The video gets between 7-10 million views a day which is well ahead of "Baby's" 300-500,000 a day.
Is Justin feeling the heat? While he hasn't spoken out about it, I don't think he's feeling too bad about the defeat since he and Psy are pals and he helped him break out overseas. Justin also has a lot to look forward to; his current single, "Beauty and a Beat," is at almost 100 million views on YouTube. And if it makes him feel any better, he's creaming Psy in the Twitter department. He overshadows the Korean pop star by 29 million followers!
