Madonna thrilled fans at her New York City show on Tuesday by introducing South Korean star PSY as her surprise guest. PSY joined the pop icon to dance to his pop culture anthem “Gangnam Style” and to her jam “Music” in front of nearly 20,000 fans.
As read in the Rolling Stone Magazine, The Material Girl was performing her hit “Give It 2 Me” when PSY appeared onstage via a raised platform, much to the delight of the sold-out crowd. Midway through the song, the music shifted as PSY rose through a trap door and screamed, “Are you ready, NYC?” wearing a bright red suit.

According to The Huffington Post, Madonna said PSY flew “all the way from Frankfurt, Germany, this morning.” She also said she was a big fan of the rapper and loved his suit.
Madonna then showed off her “Gangnam Style” moves as the duo gave a raunchy performance of the hit anthem. Our verdict? Madonna can dance, but when it comes to that side-stepping, reign-holding, horse dance, she’s got nothing on PSY.

What was different about their performance was its not-perfectly-choreographed feel. At one point Madonna crawls kind of clumsily underneath PSY’s legs while he sings. Later, he crawls beneath her legs and she kind of rides him like a pony.
It’s been a wild ride for the K-Pop singer ever since his “Gangnam Style” song went viral on YouTube this summer. According to The LA Times, in just four months the video has racked up more than 720 million views making it the second most-viewed video of all time on YouTube. (Justin Bieber’s “Baby” featuring Ludacris is currently the all-time most popular video on the site with close to 800 million views).
Before jetting to the Big Apple, PSY hinted about his cameo appearance in a post on Twitter, writing, “I think tonight I am going to go dance with a friend and make some history. You will see.”
PSY added that he’s had a lot of experiences in the last few months, and that performing at MSG with Madonna topped his list.
According to Rolling Stone, a good year keeps getting better for PSY.

Madonna also collected money for those affected by Superstorm Sandy. Fans threw money onstage while she sang “Like a Virgin.” She said she collected $3,000 at Monday’s show.
If you wish you were among the 20,000 people at the Madonna concert who got to watch PSY do his thing with “Gangnam Style,” take heart: He has scheduled several tour dates in the U.S. in December and January.
