By all accounts, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel had a lovely wedding reception.
Of course, there are a few "invitees" we haven't heard from- the homeless "actors" in their wedding video.
One such "actor", a man known only as Eddie, tells the story of how he came to star in the now infamous video. He says:
"One guy came up and said, 'I'm gonna bless you today'… He says, 'I want you to say a few nice things for somebody I know that's gonna get married.'"
After saying the lines, Eddie was paid about $40. He never really gave the encounter much thought after that, until the news came to light that it was used in a mocking wedding video.
How does Eddie feel about it now? He says:
"That makes me feel really bad … that was a trick played on me."
Eddie isn't the only one regretting his part in the video. The man who filmed it, Justin Huchel is scrambling to control the damage to his friends' reputation.
His lawyer has already sent a letter demanding the video be destroyed, saying that showing it is illegal. Attorney Michael J. Saltz says:
"Mr. Huchel made a video to be used and exhibited privately at Justin Timberlake's wedding as a private joke without Mr. Timberlake's knowledge. Further, Mr. Huchel informs us that his copyrighted video was recently stolen."
We have an idea. Next time you want to make a joke out of the juxtaposition of opulence and poverty, why don't you take your rich bootie down to a soup kitchen and volunteer?
It also won't be funny, but at least you'll be doing some good!
