He buy now has sold 15 million of his albums, grossing a heavy amount of $150 million with 157 tours across two dozen of countries worldwide. His "Never Say Never" biopic cashed $30 million just in the opening weekend and then stacked at $100 million at the box office. The scent, Someday, pulled $60 million when debuted last June and the gross is from six months sale. All this income has personally puts him on $55 million since the past 12 months and at $108 million over the 2 years that passed.
One of the producers of his latest album "Believe", Timothy Mosley says,
"You have humans, and you have aliens, you have humans, and you have aliens"
This venture of his money does not stop at his earnings: it counts in his vast social media fame as well. This ride goes far beyond the thoughts; just a brief intro would be like, Bieber brags on 21 million of Twitter followers – that is far more than any entity on planet Earth has (You don't count Lady Gaga in). Mitt Romney and Barack Obama don't meet his record of Facebook fans, he has 43 million hits. His "Baby", the breakout ballad hits 740 million views and records of being the most watched video on Youtube (History ever!).
Bieber and his money have so much more to be talked about, but a quick review of his early life can just add some taste!
The teenager with fame more than his years can hold grew up in Stratford, Ont., with a single mother. The carpets (Yellow) that covered his place were saturated by him into sound waves, playing guitar, piano, trumpets was his fun. The local talent competition at the age of 12 gave him a second recognition for Ne-Yo's "So Sick". That's his music learning and playing, and then it's his mother who posted his videos on Youtube covering soul songs.
Then comes Braun, who himself was a small-time music industry executive, and as per Akon's request he was searching for an unrelated Youtube sensation – he accidentally came across Bieber. Impressed and astonished by youngster's tone and range, Braun flew him to Atlanta. 2008 it was when he was blowing away Braun and Usher. The duo had signed him up for the Raymond Braun Media Group, Braun acting as his manager, Bieber was landed with a record deal with Universal Music Group's Island Def Jam.
In December 2009, Bieber was invited by president obama to sing for him at the White House; there he wowed national audience with performance on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve".
Thu cultural phenomenon, born out of social media, took a modicum of fame and tossed into the digital chamber. Bieber signed up for a Twitter account in 2009 (June) and in September, he had accumulated 1 million followers. Twitter employee in 2010 stated,
"3% of the company's infrastructure was dedicated to handling Bieber-related tweets"
He was an early hit of Instagram as well, where he boasted 1.5 million followers.
With such social media dexterity Bieber has built himself a formidable platform. His influence and money making talent act very well established. The cash he has is far more than his decisions to play with it, what he does with it is in care by Braun. Bieber has a strategy of translating all the fame and money into riches, and for investment he believes in the Peter Lynch models, he says,
"I'm not going to invest in something I don't like; I have to believe in the product"
Bieber quietly plows millions into private tech startups, as per Braun, he holds stakes in dozen of such companies. Few of these include, Tinychat, a messaging platform, social-curation app Stamped, Sojo Studios for gaming outfits and Spotify. Bieber stands as a prominent example in Hollywood game: tech-savvy celebrities using their fame to secure stakes in Silicon Valley darlings. Bieber says,
"Each week I'm learning something about my business and what I need to know for my career."
There's a lot more loot, Bieber will be heading on hitting every continent (Excluding Antartica), emarks on a yearlong tour this fall. Randy Phillip's, AEG's chief promises Bieber $80 million for 125 concerts. Phillip's says,
"He's not just an American domestic phenomenon; he's a worldwide phenomenon,"
Bieber is a follower of Michael Jackson, who took his child stardom to an icon status. Bieber with AEG's Phillip's doesn't seem to be a coincidence; he has been a longtime Jackson partner. Jerkins, his album producer for "believe" said,
"There's something about Justin, he has this effect that reminds me of Michael, It's not just music, it's everything—it's his spirit, his personality."
And why wouldn't Bieber follow Jackson? He was a genre-defining star and Bieber, will someday, perhaps live well not from the songs he sang but the assets he bought through them (Just like Jackson).
