Rodney King, made infamous for being beaten on a 1991 video tape by four LA police officers and ultimately sparking the LA riots, has passed away at the age of 47, according to TMZ.
His body was found by his fiancee, Cynthia Kelley, on Sunday morning (June 17) at the bottom of a swimming pool.
CPR was attempted by paramedics, but they ultimately could not revive him. While no foul play is suspected, police reportedly will open a drowning investigation.
TMZ is also reporting that Cynthia has disclosed to friends that Rodney had reportedly been drinking and smoking marijuana before his death.
