Lee Greenwood
Lee Greenwood says he's offended by the decision to pull his signature hit "God Bless The U.S.A." from the kindergarten graduation ceremony at a New York school. The country star says the song reflects the love he has for America, and "the struggle we have gone through to remain free." Greenwood adds that the patriotic track is "about hope, faith, spirit and pride," and he questions, "How could that be wrong on any level?"
PS 90 Principal Greta Hawkins dropped the song from the school's kindegarten graduation ceremony claiming it is not appropriate for five-year-olds. School staffers add that Hawkins was concerned that people of other cultures might be offended by the song. However, Justin Bieber's teen romance song "Baby" remains on the program. The ceremony is coming up on June 20th.
