PHOTOS: Which Stars Are Pregnant This Summer?

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 08:34 AM PDT

It's going to be a busy summer in the celebrity baby world, with several stars preparing to welcome a little one into their lives.

Now that Jessica Simpson has given birth to sweet Maxwell Drew -- have you seen her adorable photos? -- let's take a look at some other celebrities who are gearing up for parenthood:

  • Alyson Hannigan: Life has imitated art for the "How I Met Your Mother" star, whose character on the CBS sitcom gave birth this season. Hannigan and her husband, Alexis Denisof, are expecting a baby in June, making their 2-year-old daughter, Satyana, a big sister.
  • Kourtney Kardashian: The eldest Kardashian sister is pregnant again, but this time she and her longtime beau Scott Disick will welcome a darling daughter into their family. Mason as a big brother? Cue more adorable photo ops!
  • Kristin Cavallari: The former "Hills" star-turned-designer and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler will become first-time parents this summer when Cavallari gives birth to a bouncing baby boy. Then will wedding bells be ringing for the couple? Perhaps, though Cavallari has admitted that they might try for Baby No. 2 before walking down the aisle.
  • Molly Sims: The fashionista is expecting her first childhuffing -- a boy -- with her husband, Scott Stuber, in June. We have a feeling he is going to be one stylish little guy!
  • Snooki: Believe it or not, the rambunctious "Jersey Shore" star will soon have a new nickname: Mommy. Snooki -- whose real name is Nicole Polizzi -- and her fiance, Jionni LaValle, are thinking blue because they are expecting a baby boy this summer.
  • Sienna Miller: The award for coolest mommy-to-be style definitely goes to the British actress, who is expecting her first childhugf with her rumored fiance, Tom Sturridge.
  • Giuliana Rancic: The "E! News" host's dreams are set to come true in August when she and her husband, Bill Rancic, welcome a baby via surrogate in late summer. Are they thinking pink or blue? They are planning to reveal their baby's sex at an upcoming baby shower.

'Drop Dead Diva' Season 4 Scoop: Star Brooke Elliott Teases Big Changes

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 07:46 PM PDT

"Drop Dead Diva" is back (Season 4 premieres Sun., June 3, 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime) and there's a lot to clear up. Last season's big finale ended with Jane (Brooke Elliott) leaving after she saw Grayson (Jackson Hurst) kissing her best friend Stacy (April Bowlby) -- then Stacy telling Grayson Jane's big secret ("I'm not Deb, Jane is.").

Now the tables have turned a bit: Jane is happy with Owen (Lex Medlin) and Grayson is finally the one pursuing her. But who will she ultimately choose?

I caught up with star Brooke Elliott to get scoop on the new season, the ever-changing love triangle and the rumors that we'll see a big proposal this season.

"I don't know if I could reveal that. That's very secretive!," Elliott said with a laugh. "Maybe the relationship with Owen progresses, but people ... they've got to watch, I can't say."

She also teased that, even though we see Ben Feldman leave at the end of the Season 4 premiere (and we know Feldman has been busy on "Mad Men"), we probably haven't seen the last of Jane's guardian angel Fred. "He might pop up later in the season."

In the meantime, there's a new guardian angel keeping an eye on Jane, and Luke (Carter MacIntyre) is a little more determined to keep her in line. "He is hellbent on making sure that Jane does not tell anybody."

Elliott also dished about guest stars Patty Duke, Joan Rivers and Kim Kardashian ("she was very nice" was all she would say), whether or not Judge Paula Abdul would return ("We haven't had her back this season! Maybe next season we can grab her.") and the surprise actor that she'd love to have on the show.

Watch the interview below and tell us: Are you excited for more "Drop Dead Diva"? Who do you think Jane should end up with?

Samberg OUT

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 05:53 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES -- Andy Samberg has wrapped his seven-season run on "Saturday Night Live," a spokeswoman for the actor-comedian said Friday.

Samberg won't return as a cast member next season, according to his publicist, Carrie Byalick. Samberg's exit follows that of "SNL" cast member Kristen Wiig.

Like other "Saturday Night Live" alumni, Samberg will be seen on the big screen. His new movie with Adam Sandler, "That's My Boy," is out this month.

Samberg's "SNL" highlights reel would feature his satiric rap videos including "Lazy Sunday" and a memorable one with Justin Timberlake about an X-rated gift in a box. The fake music video won an Emmy Award in 2007 for best original music and lyrics.

Wiig, Samberg and Jason Sudeikis, all of whom became cast members in the 2005-06 season, have been rumored to be leaving, with "SNL" creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels saying only that any decision would wait until summer.

That presumably meant no emotional on-air farewells.

But on the May 19 finale, Wiig got just that. In the last sketch of the night, guest host Mick Jagger played the principal at a high school graduation and brought up Wiig, in cap and gown, as a student who is "leaving this summer."

A tearful Wiig danced in turn with Jagger, cast members and Michaels to the tune of the Rolling Stones classic "She's a Rainbow."

Another 'SNL' Departure: Andy Samberg Confirms He's Leaving

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 06:31 PM PDT

Less than two weeks after "Saturday Night Live's" season finale, which ended with an emotional goodbye to longtime cast member Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg has confirmed that he is also leaving "SNL."

In an interview with the New York Times, Samberg said that he would not return to the show next season.

"It's an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life," Samberg said. "Obviously it's not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back." (There have been reports that he, Wiig and Jason Sudeikis were all considering leaving the show after this season.)

Samberg, who's been on "SNL" since 2005, is best known for bringing viral digital shorts to the sketch show, along with his Lonely Island cohorts Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone. They followed up their first viral hit "Lazy Sunday" with Emmy-nominated songs like "I Just Had Sex" and "Motherlover," and the Emmy-winning "D*ck in a Box," which featured Justin Timberlake.

In the season finale, Samberg and Chris Parnell reprised the roles that started it all for "Lazy Sunday 2," which Mike Ryan said was a fitting end to the digital short era -- an era that saw these videos get bigger, but not always better.

Watch "Lazy Sunday 2" here:

Samberg said that he and his Lonely Island partners might still contribute to "SNL" in some way in the future. "That's the kind of thing that I really do hope happens," he said.

Samberg told the New York Times that Kristen Wiig's departure helped him decide to leave as well: "She kept saying it just feels like it's her time. I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it's the moment. My contract's up and I did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do."

What do you think: Will you miss Andy Samberg on "Saturday Night Live"?

The 16 Biggest A--holes On TV

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 03:14 PM PDT

No one is more entertainingly evil than King Joffrey on "Game of Thrones".

We've seen him torture, sexually humiliate, execute (babies!), and most recently, run from battle. Understandably, a lot of negative words have been used to describe him ("entitled little bastard" and "cowardly little shit" sum it up), but these epithets epitomize why we can't stop watching him.

In anticipation of the "Game of Thrones" season finale, we've compiled a slideshow of more current TV characters we love to hate. These are the characters that we have complicated feelings about, as opposed to the characters we just can't stand watching.

From schemers like Pete Campbell on "Mad Men" to liars like Victoria Grayson on "Revenge," take a look at the morally questionable characters we couldn't imagine our favorite shows without.

Did your favorite "love-to-hate" characters make the cut? Which horrible, but entertaining characters did we forget? Share your own nominees in the comments.

Edwards Told To Keep Low Profile

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 08:29 PM PDT

RALEIGH, N.C. — Now that he has survived his campaign corruption trial, John Edwards may face an even tougher fight to regain the public's respect.

Image experts and friends recommended that the disgraced former Democratic presdential candidate put his public and political life on hold for a few years. The details of his affair and child with his mistress that were replayed at his trial are too fresh, they say.

"Plant a small garden, tend that garden and wait and listen," said Wade Smith, an attorney who hired Edwards when he was a young attorney and represented him before the trial.

Then a number of things might be possible – a legal career representing breast cancer patients, and the poor, or life as a stay-at-home father. But not a career in politics, ever.

"I think John Edwards has no political future. Nada, zip," said Emory University political science professor Merle Black. "I can't think of any Democrat in the country that would want to be on the same stage with John Edwards."

Jurors said they put aside Edwards' transgressions and focused on prosecutors' lack of evidence when they acquitted him on one count of illegally accepting campaign contributions and deadlocked on five other charges. Edwards was accused of orchestrating a plan to use money from campaign donors to hide his mistress, Rielle Hunter, while he ran for the White House.

Only time will tell if he can rehabilitate his image from sex scandals like other high-profile politicians, such as former President Bill Clinton, ex-New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"I would tell him to disappear and take care of his family," said Gary Pearce, a former political consultant who helped Edwards win a U.S. Senate seat in 1998. "There is arguably no man in public life more despised than he is."

Edwards wasn't specific about his future plans as he spoke Thursday outside the federal courthouse in Greensboro.

"I don't think God's through with me," Edwards said. "I really believe he thinks there's still some good things I can do and whatever happens with this legal stuff going forward, what I'm hopeful about is all those kids that I've seen, you know in the poorest parts of this country and some of the poorest parts in the world that I can help them."

Friends said they were not exactly sure what he had in mind when he mentioned the poor. He helped develop the University of North Carolina School of Law's Center for Poverty, Work and Opportunity, which helps advocates for proposals and policies to lessen poverty across the nation.

Edwards also spoke about his current daily routine – making breakfast and sending his 14-year-old daughter Emma Claire and his 12-year-old son Jack to school. He even mentioned his late 16-year-old son Wade, who died in a 1996 auto accident. And he talked publicly about his daughter with Hunter for the first time, saying he loved Frances Quinn Hunter "more than any of you can ever imagine."

His relationship with Hunter is less clear. After Edwards finished his statement, a tabloid reporter asked Edwards if he still loved Hunter and whether he planned to marry her. Edwards bowed his head slightly and turned away without acknowledging the question. His daughter, Cate, who looks much like her mother, shot the reporter a steely gaze.

No one answered the door at Hunter's home in Charlotte after the mistrial was declared. Edwards has said he has been providing financial support for his daughter with Hunter ever since he acknowledged he was her father in 2010.

His personal financial worth isn't known. While he made millions as a personal injury lawyer, he hasn't practiced law in more than a decade and his law license is inactive.

Media consultant Bill Hillsman, president of North Woods Advertising in Minneapolis, said Edwards could do pro bono legal work for breast cancer, the disease that killed his wife, Elizabeth, or work on poverty issues.

Edwards can rehabilitate his image, Hillsman said. "I'm certain of it on a national scale," he said. "I don't know if he could do that in North Carolina."

According to testimony at his trial, Edwards has spoken to friends about his dream of opening a law firm specializing in representing low-income and indigent clients.

Black, of Emory, said it might be difficult for Edwards to practice law again because opposing lawyers could talk about his public lies about the Hunter affair.

Whatever he does, Edwards should eschew cameras, microphones and Twitter, said Harlan Loeb, a crisis management expert in Chicago. Edwards could change his public story by the work he does out of the spotlight, he said.

"He needs to do a considerable amount of work over a sustained period of time," Loeb said.

It might take even longer for people to forget how far the U.S. senator, vice presidential nominee and Democratic presidential contender fell from grace.

"We had such high hopes of him. He represented regular people against corporations. He was long married to a woman who didn't look like a trophy wife," said celebrity attorney Gloria Allred. "He had charisma, personality, commitment and experience. He had so much farther to fall so the disappointment is much greater."

Smith, Edwards' friend for about 30 years, said there's still hope, and forgiveness ahead, for Edwards.

"The people of this country are a forgiving people and they understand that folks make terrible mistakes, that people get themselves in awful messes," Smith said.

"He has a lot going for him, a lot of ability. The time will come when there will be things for him to do that will be worthwhile, and he will know what they are if he will be quiet and listen."

Chyler Leigh Opens Up About 'Grey's' Departure

Maura Kastberg: Why Justin Combs, Son of Sean "Diddy" Combs, Deserves His Athletic Scholarship

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 02:56 PM PDT

UCLA is once more in the news but this time it's because they offered Sean "Diddy" Combs's son Justin an athletic scholarship worth $54,000.00. Here is a student that is a talented football player and has a 3.75 GPA -- not too shabby. UCLA wants him to attend their school badly, thus the offer of aid he received. Certainly part of the reason they want him is based on his own merit, but it doesn't hurt that he has a famous father. A combination like that makes it a no brainer for UCLA to offer him what they did.

Enter public opinion; people are outraged that he should be offered a scholarship like this. They want Diddy to refuse the offer and pay for his son's education. The logic to the argument goes something like this: Diddy, whose net worth is $550 million, earned $45 million last year so his son doesn't need a scholarship to pay for school. Therefore, the money should go to a needy family to help them realize their dreams.

To look at this clearly let go back to Financial Aid 101. Scholarship money (or money that doesn't include loans) comes from a college via two paths: need based, meaning the family's earnings are such that they are eligible for free federal financial aid (Pell Grants), or merit based, meaning the student excelled in some way, thereby making them an attractive candidate to the school. Obviously, Justin did not "need" the money. His offer is merit based. Justin's high school credentials (GPA), combined with his ability to play football, and even who his father is, made him an attractive candidate for UCLA. There are no surprises here. Colleges give out merit based financial aid subjectively; the most attractive candidate is offered the most money.

Having Diddy's son or any high profile student at their school, especially playing football for them, will earn a lot of money for the school and most likely his father or Justin will become donors at the school following graduation. In many cases, scholarships are funded through donations made by alumni or money the college earns through their football programs. The potential return for the college and future students of UCLA is far greater if UCLA lands Justin as a student.

No, Justin doesn't need the scholarship; he can afford to attend any college he wants to. But there are thousands of students that are offered merit based aid they don't "need" every spring. What's happened here is not new and not wrong. Colleges are businesses and all businesses weigh the ROI of everything they do.

Instead of complaining that he shouldn't get a scholarship, students should do everything they can to make themselves an attractive candidate at the colleges they want to attend. Apply to colleges where they place in the top 25% academically, show a strong interest in something outside of their academics, take the hard classes in high school and perform well in them, and take AP classes where they can be invested in their future so colleges will invest in them. While we can't control who our parents are -- famous or not -- we can make sure to have the most attractive qualities that universities look for.

Trish Bendix: AfterEllen.com's Best Lesbian Week Ever: May 26-June 1

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 02:53 PM PDT

AfterEllen.com is Logo's site for lesbians and bisexual women in entertainment and media, which means we pride ourselves on knowing all kinds of Sapphic pop-culture facts. Each week we'll share some of the best tidbits on The Huffington Post in our new series, "Best Lesbian Week Ever."

Here's who and what was on our raging gay radar this week.

Carolina Herrera, dress designer to New York lesbians: One week after Christine Quinn was married in a custom Carolina gown, Cynthia Nixon donned her own in green for her ceremony with Christine Marinoni. Carolina is either the go-to lesbian wedding dress designer, or the go-to redhead wedding dress designer. Maybe she's both.

Chely Wright wants a country star to say gay is OK: The lesbian singer went on CBS News this week and said she'd love for a country music chart-topper to be an advocate for equality. Well it sure won't be Toby Keith.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey's resident lez: Kathy's gay sister Rosie fell for a straight party planner this week and also came out to her niece and nephew. Just another week in the life of the housewives and their lesbian sidekicks.

Kat Graham reps for equality on The Ellen Show: The actress/singer performed her single clad in boy scout wear in support of ousted lesbian den mother Jennifer Tyrell. Of course if you're trying to reach a crowd that doesn't necessarily support equality, perhaps she should have done this routine elsewhere, like on The O'Reilly Factor.

The gay and the closeted: The lesbian storyline on The Bold and the Beautiful has Karen Spencer and partner Danielle hiding their relationship from Karen's brother Bill. This week, Bill was convinced Danielle was hitting on him and his sister, because of her secret, was unable to laugh in his ignorant and conceited face. Didn't she almost have it all?

Bomb Girls will educate us Stateside: The Canadian World War II series Bomb Girls will air on the Reelz Channel sometime next fall. Complete with a lesbian character who has an unrequited crush on a co-worker, the series has U.S. lesbians wondering what this Reelz Channel is and how they can get it before summer's end.

Fortune Feimster takes over Chelsea Lately: The out comic guest hosted the E! show on Thursday night and her monologue included the dance moves she uses to make the ladies scream. Even Chewy himself couldn't resist her Salsa.

Who doesn't love a woman in uniform?: Out author Anne Holt's series about lesbian cop Hanne Wilhelmsen is being adapted into a TV show. No network is attached yet but perhaps Reelz would be interested.

Mary J. Blige Fashion Collection In The Works?

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 04:33 PM PDT

Looks like there is another celebrity fashion line on its way!

Mary J. Blige revealed to WWD that she is in the "brainstorming" stage of creating a fashion collection. The 40-year-old star was in China for Armani's "One Night Only in Beijing" fashion show Thursday night when she told the publication about the project.

Her first crack at a clothing line when she collaborated with Catherin Malandrino was cute, but this sounds like it could be bigger and better.

She plans to launch the line with just shoes and boots and then move into apparel, which she hopes to offer some "great-fitting jeans." From what we've witnessed from her style over the years, I'm sure we can expect some knee-high boots, a few metallic dresses, a white pant suit and lots of leather and leopard. This should be interesting.

But with the recent Burger King crispy chicken wrap debacle behind her, we're glad the singer can refocus on her music, acting and now budding fashion design career.

Here's a look at Mary's fashion evolution from ghetto fab to simply fab.

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 02:40 PM PDT

She may not have taken home the "Dancing With The Stars" trophy, but Margaret Cho isn't complaining.

While on ABC's "The View" (weekdays on ABC) on Friday, Cho admitted that the dance competition show left her with $200,000.

She also joked about people mistaking her for other celebrities, saying, "They'll say stuff like, I just want to know what it was like to make 'Charlie's Angels'? And my answer to that is... 'No, I'm the one from "Grey's Anatomy."'"

Afterward, she told the ladies of "The View" who would be guest-starring on "Drop Dead Diva" in the upcoming season.
