From Strictly Social:
Two of disco and dance music's most influential musician/producers Giorgio Moroder and Nile Rodgers made rare appearances at the recent International Music Summit in Ibiza. Not only was it a treat for those in attendance but these two are great admirers of each other so it was extra special for them to meet. Additionally, both of these living legends were called upon by Daft Punk to record material for their forthcoming new album.
Moroder was a last minute addition to the conference. Timing worked out as he was on the island doing some recording. In the session he spoke about his incredible history in music, working with the late Donna Summer, recording with Daft Punk, and even answered some questions submitted by some of today's biggest dance music producers. Amazing!
IMS co-founder Pete Tong spent an hour with Nile Rodgers. The session focused on the incredible life story of the legendary musician, producer, and founder of Chic. Rodgers also commented on his time with Daft Punk, working with the late Donna Summer, as well as some thoughts on the state of dance music today.
