The Mexico City Plaza Jammed Because Of Justin Bieber's Concert ...

It is a measure of his popular appeal. A Plaza was jammed when Justin Bieber was holding a concert in the vicinity. Thousands upon thousands of young fans poured into the vast square accompanied (or chaperoned) by their parents as they screamed for the superstar. He is currently holding a free concert in Mexico City. Opening with his hits song 'Baby' took the crowd by storm as they shouted in unison. The adoring fans hardly had room to breathe in the city's main plaza building. They were not bothered by the crowding. Instead they chanted incessantly:

"Justin! Justin! Justin!"

A great reception for the teenage sensation

As he addressed the crowds, Justin Bieber thanked them for their spirits: "Mexico City, there is a lot of people today! …Every one of you is my biggest fan." He was dressed in a grey sweatshirt and white jeans. He tantalizingly took them off to reveal another white T-shirt. Five dancers accompanied him as he performed.  His music videos were shown to the crowds using 4 giant screens. The audience was mainly composed of girls and their parents. Everyone braved the intermittent rain and light to enjoy the special moment.

When Justin Bieber asked a girl onto the stage, the fans went wild. He gave her a bouquet of flowers. The 'hopeless romantic' then sang 'One Less Lonely Girl' into her ear. She cried throughout the song. A sea of purple (mainly 10-14 years of age) covered the reddish and grey stones of the plaza. Apparently it is his favorite color and they wanted to pay homage. During a pre-concert news conference, Justin said that there is no artist he would spend days waiting for. He was in admiration of the fans that spent days camping outside, waiting for a free spot:

"There is no one I admire so much to do something crazy, but if Michael Jackson were here, I would do it for him. So, I do understand the emotion that the girls feel and that makes me feel very honored."
