Gray Days: School birthday celebration
Jun 2nd 2012, 14:40

Last Thursday, we took cupcakes and ice cream to Gray's school.  They had 6 kids with birthdays within about 10 days, so they have been on a sugar high for over a week now, as far as I can tell.

Gray was eager to help pass out spoons.  We brought chocolate and vanilla mini-cupcakes and vanilla and mint chocolate chip ice cream, per Gray's choosing.
Two of Gray's buddies, Stas and Linnea.  Linnea's birthday is 5/30 and they've been in the same daycare class since they were about 4 months old.

And here was my favorite--they had a dance party afterward and Gray got to pick the song.  He chose "the cha cha cha song":

But instead of dancing, he helped clean up by stacking chairs and holding the dustbin.  Ms. Re says he usually dances.
Then Ms. Re played Justin Bieber "baby baby baby" and the kids went insane.  I'm pretty sure they think Justin Bieber is a girl because the girls dance during his part and the boys dance during this rap segment in the middle.  It was awesome.  Ms. Re says she hears that song in her dreams because they play it so often.

Gray was convinced he was moving up to the next class, the Red Room, immediately upon turning 4.  Instead, he has to wait until August or so, when a bunch of them will move up.  He did get to spend the day there once last week.  He took me in there when we left to show me where he slept and where the block area is.  But his favorite thing was getting to play on the computer.  They had some game and he told me in detail how to play.  "You just right-click, Mom, and the things shoot up."  No big deal, just right-click.
