Right before the race. I was feeling pretty nervous. I just wanted to start, I was feeling unsure if I was going to be able to make it. I just wanted to get it over with at this point.
This sign was made by Stephanie. My favorite part was the Run! Run! Run! Run!
She said she couldn't think of anything to write on a sign. I thought it was great.
This was right before the start of the race. Poised and ready to go haha. Next to finishing, the start of the race was the best part. It got me super pumped up to run in such a big crowd, with everybody cheering. I actually ran a little too fast the first several miles, because I was so excited. Unfortunately, miles 9-11 did not go as well for me.. ugh. My dad said he was a little unsure about whether or not I was going to make it or get carried off by the ambulance. But I prevailed!
Some of the signs my mom made :) she liked to mix it up.

Finishing! This was the most exciting part. I told the kids at work that Justin Bieber "Baby" came on my ipod as I was crossing the finish line. It got me pretty pumped up. haha. It was really exciting! They announced my name as I was approaching the finish line, and there were a lot of people cheering. It's just a really inspiring feeling!
I had some pretty good fans come and watch me :) My mom had a map with the route highlighted and all the different places she wanted to see me marked off. She is very efficient that way. haha.
So, that's the recap of my half-marathon! I kind of want to find another race, maybe something a little shorter, like a 10 K. I have to let my sore legs rest a couple days. It was the hardest physical challenge I've ever accomplished, so it was a really cool feeling!
